Testing

High pressure die casting machines are used to manufacture light-alloy parts with superior surface finish, high precision, optimum mechanical properties, and excellent uniformity. We process aluminium alloys like ADC12, LM24, LM6, MM230, A380, A383, A413, A360, AA365 and ENAC47100.

We can process any alloy following these international standards:
  • North American Die Casting Association - NADCA A-3-1-15
  • Japanese International Standards - JIS H 5302
  • German Standard – DIN 1725
  • European Standard – EN 1706
  • American Society for Testing and Materials - ASTM B85
We always ensure that our customer finishing requirements are handled in a timely and cost-effectively manner. A wide range of finishes are available for various visual appearances and textures, depending on your requirements.
Our aluminium finishes include:
  • Clear anodising
  • Hard anodising
  • Vibro deburring
  • Chromating
  • Powder coating
  • E-coating
  • Buffing
  • Shot blasting

Our numerous VMCs, Drill-Tap centres, CNC Turning machines, SPMs ensure our customers receives a ready-to-assemble part. Machining cells or layouts can be formed or rearranged in a matter of days, thereby optimising space, movement, and time, based on customer requirements. This results in optimised tack time and a mistake-proof process. Availability of diverse types of similar machines gives flexibility for synchronising the machining process with the rest of the processes as per the customers' changing needs.

CRP believes in value addition and endeavours to produce and supply sub-assemblies to help our customers get ready to use parts. This also helps them to reduce the length of the supply chain.

Some of the examples include:
  • Oil seals are assembled and supplied into housing casting, which goes to engine assembly shops of many OEMs.
  • Various metal inserts like cast iron, brass, and stainless steel are in-situ die-casted during the casting process for the bearing seating area, sliding assembly, and treaded features.
  • Union pipes are pressed into the casting after size machining. An example is an Automobile Engine Thermostat housing with pipe connections for water circulations.

We undertake several tests at incoming, in-process, final and pre-delivery stages, as per the customer and product needs.

We carry out the following tests:
  • Raw material testing
  • Leak testing / Pressure testing as a part, product or assembly
    Pressure decay method
Dump test in water other specified fluids
    Dye penetration testing
  • Pull out testing for pipes and inserts
  • Adhesion test for powder coatings
  • Salt spray test for validation of various surface finish requirements
  • Specific product testing if any viz.,snout load testing
